A few facts about reliability and security

• The existing power grid is aging and becoming more unreliable.More frequent outages and brown outs are expected.
• Most people who generate and store their own electricity independently are not even aware when outages occur.
• Energy rates are increasing. Investing in your own system means your energy rates will never rise!
• Approximately 1/2 of your electricity bill is not for electricity. For every dollar of electricity you produce for your own consumption, you reduce your electricity bill by 2 dollars.
• The Ontario Government Feed In Tariff pays you up to 80.2 cents per kilowatt. If you sell all of your electricity back to the grid, you need to produce about 1/7th of what you consume to pay for your electricity bill at today’s rates.
• The start up cost of a renewable energy system is comparable to the cost of a new vehicle. However, your system does not depreciate with time as a vehicle does, it’s value actually increases as energy rates rise. As with vehicles, there are companies that will help you finance your investment.
