Everyone is talking about the environment

Greenhouse gas, climate change—it’s a huge problem and it’s real. What can we do? One of the things we can do to reduce greenhouse gas emissions is to generate electricity, which we all use, in an environmentally responsible manner. As individuals, we have a moral obligation to prevent further damage to our planet for our children and the generations to follow.
If that’s not reason enough...

Ontario’s net metering regulations allow you to send electricity generated from renewable sources to the electrical grid for a credit toward your energy costs

Through Ontario’s Feed In Tariff, the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) purchases electricity generated by you at a fixed rate of up to 80.2 cents per kwh for the clean, renewable solar power you generate at your home, business or farm.

The Federal and provincial Government’s ecoENERGY program. There are now a significant number of grants available for your use. Our team can help you determine which ones your project qualifies for through our site assessment process.

Press Release

Local company Direct Current Renewable Energy Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of their program Power for Faith and Healing. This program is dedicated to assisting non profits, charities and institutions realize income opportunities through the new Feed in Tariff program or FIT which is administered by the Ontario Power Authority. By installing photovoltaic systems (solar panels) on their buildings or property, participants will be paid a guaranteed price over a 20-year term for all the electricity they produce and deliver to the province's electricity grid.

'As non profit organizations are always looking for sources of income, we want to help them choose a clean, green and easy method to help fund whatever their mission may be. Churches, synagogues, temples, community centers, libraries all have the potential to be generating clean electricity which has benefits other than just fund raising. By increasing the supply of renewable energy to the grid, the demand for dirty coal fired electricity will decrease, helping slow the rate we are polluting our environment. Right now, 100% of our electricity comes from Nanticoke, the largest coal fired plant in North America and the 5th largest toxic air polluter in Canada- and its right in our backyard.

Power for Faith and Healing is designed to incorporate education, the environment and communities of different types into one program that benefits all, not just individuals. It is a turnkey operation including the initial project assessment, design and engineering, installation, connection to the grid and service.

One of the goals of this program is to get enough community based groups signed up to form a co-op that will increase our purchasing power and drive down the cost of the equipment, which in turn will shorten the payback period and increase the revenue of the participating organization.
If we get 20 groups installed at around 10kw each, we will be responsible for a reduction of 200 tonnes of CO2 per year. By working together participants will be strengthening our community, helping the environment and at the end of the day, making money too'.
